The Ballena Alegre Sailing Club, located in the middle of the Bay of Roses, is known for being the venue for top-level International Sailing events.
The most popular, the PWA (Professional Windsurfing Association) that they have organized continuously between 1999 and 2019. Likewise, the sporting events F18 Worlds 2019 and the Hobie Cat Multi Europeans 2021.
This year, the CVBA has organized the "WindBA Costa Brava Spring Cup 2022" from June 15 to 19, 2022, where the Turtl Project has been involved with a beach cleanup, in order to encourage and make people, especially kids conscious with the problem we have in our oceans.
This event was for sailors in the OPTIMIST junior class. Sailors will be able to familiarize themselves with the sailing conditions of the bay as the Club de Vela la Ballena Alegre is the spot for IODA-OPTIWORLD for the organization of the 2023 OPTIMIST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP from June 11 to 21, 2023.
As for the beach clean up, All the Optimist sailors and coaches joined us in this common action throughout Europe, to raise awareness about the amount of waste we dump uncontrollably in nature and promote awareness actions through the collection of this waste illegally dumped in forests, beaches, riverbanks..
